Developer 343 Industries has admitted that Halo Infinite is effectively Halo 6.
In a recent Mixer stream, Halo: Infinite’s lead writer, Jeff Easterling, said: “It is Halo 6. You should just consider it Halo 6. Don’t think of it as a weird prequel kind of thing. It’s the next story. It’s the next chapter in what is going on.”
In a blog post, 343 Industries’ studio head Chris Lee said: “The team also heard feedback loud and clear on the amount of time spent playing as the Master Chief in Halo 5. In Halo Infinite, the game will focus on the Master Chief and continue his saga after the events of Halo 5.”
Lee added: “We are taking the time we need to make the right game and are making changes to how we approach things this time around. The goal of the entire 343 Industries team is to make a great Halo game for our fans that also invites new players into our franchise. We will have some new and unexpected directions to take folks in.”
Currently, Halo Infinite has no time-frame for release, and with 343 Industries determined to take its time in order to get the game right, we might have to exercise some patience. However, you can keep an eye on the game’s website for more news.
