Industry titan Blizzard has revealed the schedule for this years Blizzcon, detailing the content and timings of its many panels.
The main piece of news to come from this concerns the future of Diablo. Following the opening ceremony, the event occurring immediately after is titled “Diablo: What’s Next.”
Usually, this slot is reserved for Blizzard’s ‘big Blizzcon announcement’ or at least a discussion to complement it. The description reads “Join the Diablo team as they discuss what’s in store for the heroes of Sanctuary.”
Rumours about a new Diablo project have been swirling for a while now with job postings cropping up and a possible Netflix series thought to be on the horizon. It appears to be back in Blizzard’s lens of focus this year, with the Eternal Collection coming to Nintendo Switch in November, coincidentally on the same day as this reveal.
As well as the first event, there is another Diablo panel on the Sunday, where the developers will be available for a Q&A session with fans after they “explore the world of Sanctuary.” This all points to a possible Diablo reveal. Whether that’s a new game or a remaster still remains to be seen, but this schedule is cause for Diablo fans to start getting excited.
We’re sure to find out more when the main event of Blizzcon kicks off next month on November 2nd. We’ll be sure to report any reveals as and when the news becomes available.
