Developers are preparing for Sony to afford PlayStation Network users with the ability to change their names.
A report from Kotaku’s Jason Schreier is the source of this news, where “three people at three different games studios” have noted how they are polishing their games in accordance with the forthcoming changes.
Another anonymous developer source shared a photo with Kotaku showing a screenshot with the ‘edit username’ option available taken from official Sony documentation.
We don’t have any sort of release window or plans for these changes, but due to the report it can be assumed they are on the way, definitely at least in the testing phase prior to release.
Thankfully, no longer will names like DeltaSniper279 and XxV4P3L0RDxX be etched permanently into our online personas. Cheers Sony.
