Bethesda took to Twitter to reveal some more news about Fallout 76 this week, specifically, what fans can expect in the way of factions when they depart from the nuclear bunker and attempt to survive in the hostile new region of West Virginia.
There are five factions so far, as revealed by the Fallout Twitter account: Brotherhood of Steel, Enclave, Raiders, Free States and Responders. We’ve seen the Brotherhood of Steel and The Enclave in previous Fallout games, and most people who’ve picked up at least one game in the franchise have put a couple of Raiders out of commission on their travels.
The Responders, on the other hand, is a new faction made up of “brave firefighters, police officers and medical professionals,” who have banded together to help others. We also have the Free States, a cartel of Doomsday Preppers who knew the end was coming. These professional know-it-alls are now out and about ready to claim what’s theirs, as they did have a considerable head start.
Other tidbits from the reveals include the news that the leader of the Raiders is a woman called Rose. She is described as enigmatic, with loose morals and a penchant for carnage.
The Enclave is present for much more bureaucratic means, mainly “to re-establish governmental control of America” after the people in power moved to an “oil rig off the coast of San Francisco.” If you’ve played Fallout 3 and had the chance to meet up with President Eden, you probably know that their plans don’t always go off without a hitch. It’s great to see them back in a Fallout game either way, as they are by far one of the more interesting factions present in the lore, the self-righteous continuation of the government.
Get ready to pick sides as the Xbox One beta kicks off today ahead of the game’s launch on November 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
