Sega has announced that Sega Mega Drive Classics for the Switch will be released on December 6 2018.

The highly anticipated collection of retro classics will include the likes of The Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage 2, Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast, Phantasy Star II, Golden Axe and Sonic the Hedgehog. As well as allowing those games to be played on the go via the Switch’s portable mode, Sega Mega Drive Classics will boast modern gaming features like online multiplay, achievements, mirror mode and local co-op play.

30 October 2018 also marked the 30th anniversary of the Mega Drive’s launch – an anniversary celebrated in the Sega Mega Drive Classics trailer above. For a full list of all 50 games included in Sega Mega Drive Classics, head to the game’s website.
