Total War: Arena Shutting Down Early Next Year

Development has ceased on Creative Assembly’s experimental MOBA/Strategy game hybrid Total War: Arena.

Creative Assembly has revealed that the game will shut down early next year in February 2019

The game was a free-to-play version of the iconic RTS, published by Wargaming, the team famous for free to play titles like World of Tanks.

The game is currently in Open Beta, but as of today new accounts won’t be registered.

According to Creative Assembly, the game didn’t meet their expectations (or that of publisher Wargaming.)

I’ve heard mixed reports from fans and newcomers, but it will most likely be a lack of players that caused the cancellation.

Luckily, if you’ve played more than 100 battles you should be receiving 30 days of premium! Wargaming has also made some Total War DLC free on its platform.

Servers will go offline at 10am on February 22, 2019, so make sure to scratch the itch before it leaves for good!
