Hideo Kojima has admitted Death Stranding will “take a while,” which implies that the PlayStation 4 exclusive will not arrive until 2020.
Kojima recently hit Twitter to promote Mads Mikkelsen, who plays a major role in Death Stranding, and his new film Arctic. Joe Penna took the opportunity to ask: “Does this mean I get to play Death Stranding now?” To which Kojima replied: “It’ll take a while, but meanwhile I hope everyone enjoys the film.”
Hideo Kojima’s first game since falling out with Konami is certainly hugely ambitious and hotly anticipated. Recently, there had been rumours circulating that it would be released before the end of 2019, but those have now been well and truly scotched.
Given that it is more likely to arrive in 2020, it could even be a launch title for Sony’s next console, which is also believed likely to take its bow in 2020. For further info, keep an eye on Sony’s Death Stranding website.
