Apex Legends passes 50 million players

Over 50 million gamers have now played Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends.

The passing of the milestone – just a month after the free-to-play battle royale game’s stealthy launch – was announced on the Apex Legends Twitter feed. Respawn Entertainment said: “Apex Legends hit 50 Million players worldwide! We are humbled by all your support and can’t wait to show you what’s next.”

Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella also tweeted: “Thank you to the 50 million players that have shown up in the first month since Apex Legends launched! You have all made this something special and there’s much more to come!” Apex Legends started quickly, attracting one million unique players in its first eight hours online, and hitting the 10 million-player mark after just three days.

But it will do well to catch Fortnite, which has now attracted over 200 million players. For the latest Apex Legends news, watch the game’s website.
