Doom is a series all about absolutely obliterating your enemies in a rampage of destruction, and now you can do it while obliterated with the official Doom Bone Vodka.
Created by London-based Rebel Distillers using beef bones and ‘other organic ingredients’ from London butcher The Ginger Pig, the Doom Bone Vodka is definitely one of the most memorable video game tie-ins that we can recall being made.
Over on The Spirit Business they have some more information about the drink. Rebel Distillers co-founder Matt McGiven had this to say about the vodka. “We’re tapping into one of the world’s favourite hobbies, video games, to offer a unique perspective in spirit production, Doom Eternal is a world of flames and demons, a barbecue pit with action – a smoked bone vodka is certainly a new take on spirit provenance.”
Made from a wheat spirit base, the beef bones are then roasted and smoked with the marrow then being extracted and macerated in neutral grain alcohol before the vodka being distilled in a vacuum still. Definitely not one for vegans or vegetarians, in that case.
Apparently the Doom Bone Vodka has a “dry, earthy start” on the palate, leading to an “umami and buttery feel on the tongue”, and “smoky, peppery” finish.
If you’re in the UK, EU, or Australia and are of legal drinking age, you can pre-order some Doom Bone Vodka right now in preparation of getting mortal when you destroy some immortals in the upcoming Doom Eternal. The vodka will be priced at £45 and the first batch will be available and dispatched towards the end of September.
Doom Eternal will release on the 22nd of November, 2019, on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4.
