Resident Evil spin-off Project Resistance gets first trailer

Project Resistance

The new Resident Evil spin-off game titled Project Resistance has received a cinematic teaser trailer

Taking place in a research facility, the trailer shows off four characters being ambushed by a menagerie of Resident Evil creatures. The trailer ends with the reveal of a Mr. X type Tyrant, ready to face off against the team of players. It’s not known at this time whether or not this is a separate Tyrant or Mr. X himself, but with Mr. X becoming a meme after being featured in the hugely popular and multi-million copy selling Resident Evil 2 remake, it makes sense that Capcom would want to feature on a Mr. X-a-like for new Resident Evil properties.

The trailer itself doesn’t go into much detail regarding the upcoming game, but what is confirmed so far is that it will be a survival horror team based co-op experience, as confirmed by a tweet sent out by Capcom’s official Resident Evil account.

In addition, it appears that another player may be in control of the Mr. X-a-like Tyrant, in an asymmetric take on multiplayer.

There’ll be more information shared shortly at the Tokyo Game Show, with the game being playable for attendants who register in advance via the game’s website. Here are the times that the game will be on stage at TGS 2019:

  • September 12 (Thur.) 12:30-1:10 p.m. [JST]

  • September 14 (Sat.) 11:50-12:30 p.m. [JST]
  • September 15 (Sun.) 3:30-4:30 p.m. [JST]
