Destiny 2’s latest expansion titled Shadowkeep is fast rising above the horizon, and just ahead of its launch, on the 1st of October, Bungie has released a brand new launch trailer filled with juicy titbits and an ominous voiceover encouraging you to join the shadow. Take a look.
Whilst there’s little new that wasn’t already common knowledge, especially after the small featurette that Bungie released earlier in the month, it still manages to cram loads of info and details about the upcoming expansion into its short running time, as well as some info about the story that players will encounter all narrated by Eris Morn.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep promises to bring a revamped armour system, a new raid (which will launch on the 5th of October and is titled Garden of Salvation), new quests, new exotics, a new dungeon, new co-operative strikes, a new crucible, and for the more brutal amongst you; new close-quarter finishing moves to really lay the beatdown on your opponents. All, of course, focusing around the Earth’s moon which looks to really open up, becoming a ‘playground’ for Destiny 2 players, as the trailer promises. Finally, you can head to the moon and see where that famous wizard came from.
This will all kick off with the new year of Destiny 2 updates and storyline that’s focusing around the Season of the Undying, which will drive the narrative towards the as-yet-untitled season 9.
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches alongside New Light on the first of October, where Destiny 2 will be playable for free in its base game format, with only expansions requiring further investment. This means that if you’ve been waiting to check out Destiny 2, October will definitely be the right time to jump into the multiplayer loot shooter.
