We got a fresh look at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order during a livestream, with a new trailer showing off a little bit of gameplay and a lot more about the plot players will experience when they head into the game.
The game sees you taking on the role of Cal Kestis, a former Padawan who’s now on the run from the dreaded Order 66, seen in Revenge of the Sith. Hunting him down is the Second Sister, an Imperial Inquisitor who’s tracking down anyone that the Empire missed in their slaughter of the Jedi.
Thankfully Cal Kestis isn’t alone. Cere, a former Jedi Master, a droid friend, and a gruff pilot all team up to help Cal as well as get his help with their mission.
We don’t get much more about the mission itself, but it’s safe to say it will dive deep into Jedi and Sith mysteries, as well as hopefully explain where the heck Cal Kestis was by the time A New Hope came about. Maybe he’s off frolicking in the distant reaches of space with Ezra Bridger, a similar proto-Jedi who was conveniently missing around the time of the fall of the Empire.
We definitely saw a lot more of the game itself too, with lightsaber battles that seem more reactive and fluid than anything we’ve seen in gaming before, as well as some huge set pieces involving Star Wars staples such as giant beasts.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is being developed by legendary Titanfall developers Respawn Entertainment, and will launch on the 15th of November on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We will hopefully get an additional look at the game during the Triple Force Friday event, which will be held on the 4th of October.
