Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is shaping up to be as varied and full of factions as the original. We’ve seen several introductions to different clans – including the brutal Brujah and the thinbloods – and Brutal Labs and Paradox have also been at work detailing the five factions which between them control Seattle. Today they’ve announced the penultimate faction, The Newcomers.
Located within the University District, The Newcomers have only recently been allowed to ply their trade within Seattle by Prince Cross. Historically allied with the Tremere – a clan of thaumaturges and warlocks – they offer prospective vampires a chance at something better, as well as safe access to blood in a fertile hunting ground. Their leader is “Professor” Viktor Goga who has taken The Newcomers from relative outsiders to being a considerable threat to The Baron’s operations.
The link between The Newcomers and the clan of Tremere is obvious once you look into how Tremere has grown over the years, the background for the game sees them experimenting more and recruiting young mages, warlocks, and anyone interested in magic. The University District is a fitting ground for them to not only hunt, but also recruit and train. That said, it’s important to remember that in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, you can work with any faction as a member of any clan without restriction.
The Newcomers are the penultimate reveal for the five clans controlling Seattle, with The Pioneers, The Camarilla, and The Baron all being already announced. With only one faction to go, their look at the political and intrigue-filled makeup of Seattle’s vampire population is almost complete.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is scheduled for a March 2020 release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
