Developer/publisher Bungie has released a trailer showcasing Garden of Salvation: the new Destiny 2 raid which arrived with the Shadowkeep expansion.
Much of the excitement around Shadowkeep – which, as we reported, triggers a considerable reinvention of Destiny 2 – has centred on Garden of Salvation. The raid went live on Saturday October 5, setting off a race among Destiny 2 players to become the first in the world to complete it.
As Bungie acknowledged on Twitter, a PC speedrun clan called Ascend was the first team in the world to complete Garden of Salvation. Bungie’s Twitter feed added: “Just how close was the race to World First? After a 6 hour and 13 minute marathon, first and second place were only separated by 2 minutes and 33 seconds.”
Bungie described Garden of Salvation thus: “A signal emerges from the dark and reaches beyond dimensions, into the uncharted wilds of the Black Garden. Where it leads inside the Garden remains a mystery. One that whispers with temptation, yearning to be solved.”
The next big milestone on Shadowkeep’s roadmap will be a new dungeon, due to arrive on October 29, at the same time as a new PvP mode entitled Momentum Control. Currently, there is no news regarding future raids that may be added but as ever, we’ll keep you informed. For more Destiny 2: Shadowkeep information, keep an eye on its website.
