The annual Halloween-inspired event Festival of the Lost has returned to Destiny 2, bringing both a new dungeon and a new Crucible mode.
As is customary, Festival of the Lost brings a host of spooky Halloween costumes for players and seasonal decorations to the Tower, along with a new gun to purchase using the seasonal Candy currency, the Braytech Werewolf (which requires a Power rating of 950), as seen in the trailer below.
But its more significant gameplay additions include a new dungeon called the Pit of Heresy which, Bungie says, “Opens up today for willing fireteams or brave Guardians who want to tackle it alone. Speak with Eris; she knows the way.” Festival of the Lost also brings a new Crucible mode called Momentum Control. Bungie describes it thus: “While Mayhem puts focus on Supers, Momentum shifts your focus to gunplay. This is a fast-paced, hair-on-fire experience where the lethality of all weapons has been cranked to 11. You’re incentivized to be aggressive as you defeat other Guardians to earn charged melees, grenades, and Supers.”
Finally, Festival of the Lost sees the arrival of a new Exotic weapon in Destiny 2, the Xenophage machine-gun. To initiate the quest to find it, you’ll have to head to the Moon’s Pyramid Overlook area that Eris Morn likes to frequent, close to the Scarlet Keep.
Festival of the Lost is free for all Destiny 2 players, and will last until November 19. For all the low-down about it, visit Destiny 2’s website.
