A slightly odd week for gaming news this week, we saw PewdiePie announce his break from YouTube in 2020, more China Controversy bleeding over into gaming once more and plenty of speculation on new Star Wars, Resident Evil and Dungeons and Dragons Games.

At least ‘seven or eight’ Dungeons & Dragons games being developed

Speaking to, Wizards of the Coast president Chris Cocks talked about there being at least seven or eight Dungeons & Dragons games in the works right now, with the intent that each has its own particular focus in the D&D universe. “We want each game to have a point of view, and to really keep on just a couple of things and do it really, really well,” the Wizards of the Coast president said. “What you don’t want to do is have every game in the franchise try to do the same thing, and try to do everything all at once.” Full Article

PewDiePie to take a break from YouTube next year

At the end of a recent video criticising YouTube for implementing updates to its harassment policy, Kjellberg announced that he will be taking a break from the platform in 2020, stating that he’ll “be away for a little while” early next year. Kjellberg, of course, has a chequered history with the platform, with many incidents incurred during his own streams and videos. In the past, Kjellberg received criticism over usage of a racial slur during a livestream, received a DMCA from Firewatch developers Campo Santo, nearly said another racial slur during another livestream, attracted criticism over UK right-wing party UKIP’s statement of support, and of course, lost a Disney contract after an anti-semitic stunt. Another Respawn single-player Star Wars game may be in the works

With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order under their belts and Apex Legends continuing to set the battle royale arena alight, you’d be forgiven for thinking that developers Respawn Entertainment could rest on their laurels for a bit. However, it appears that Respawn have more Star Wars incoming, with some job postings indicating that they’re working on another Star Wars action/adventure game. Full Article

Mesut Ozil removed from PES 2020 in China after criticising government

as reported by the BBC, the Chinese version of PES 2020 will be modified to remove the 31 year old Mesut Özil from the game. NetEase, the publisher in China, stated that “The German player Ozil posted an extreme statement about China on social media,” before going on to state “The speech hurt the feelings of Chinese fans and violated the sports spirit of love and peace. We do not understand, accept or forgive this.” Full Article

Resident Evil Ambassadors invited to test unannounced game

Capcom’s Resident Evil Ambassador programme has been updated, according to an email posted over on Reddit by user deimos-chan. If you’re not aware of the Ambassador programme, it’s something Capcom has set up to enable fans of the series to become advocates for it, sharing news and updates organically rather than through paid sponsorships or adverts. The idea is that by signing up – and being accepted – you’ll get advance notice of Resident Evil news that you can then disseminate through your social networks. Full Article
