The free to play Battle Royale FPS Alex Legends almost came out of nowhere when it was released back in early Feb 2019. Since then it has gained a huge following with its action-filled seasons, new legends, huge vertical maps and more. Apex Legends ranks were also something that was introduced back in Season 2 and continues to offer a competitive scene where players can truly test their FPS skills. Here is how the Apex Legends ranked system works.
Ranks
There are 7 different Apex Legends ranks to fight your way through. Each of these ranks feature a number of divisions for you to work your way through. They are as follows
Bronze III, II, I
Silver IV, III, II, I
Gold IV, III, II, I
Platinum IV, III, II, I
Diamond IV, III, II, I
Master
Apex Predator
Ranked Points
In order to take part in matches at these ranks you will have to spend Ranked Points (RP). Only Bronze is free to enter. The cost to enter a game at the different ranks is.
Bronze – Free
Silver – 12RP
Gold – 24RP
Platinum – 36RP
Diamond – 48RP
Master – 60RP
Apex Predator – 60RP
Obviously you’re going to need to earn Ranked Points in order to take part in matches at your rank. To help you do that you will earn points from taking part in ranked matches and from getting kills or assists during those games.
Placing in the top 13 will net you points varying between 10RP and 100RP depending on how high up in the top 10 you finish. You will also earn 10RP for every kill or assist you get during a match. This is capped at 6 kills or assists for each match.
However there is a chance to earn a multiplier on this. Should you finish in the top 10 you will gain multipliers towards your kills and assists.
For example, should you finish 5th or 4th you will gain 15RP per kill or assist instead of the standard 10RP.
With a cost of entering a match in ranked it is possible that you could end up losing points during a game if you get eliminated early or don’t rack up many kills. It therefore pays to try and be a little more aggressive and less passive.
Ranked With Friends
Unlike some games that restrict playing with friends based on your ranks or how close in rank you are. You’re able to play with any level of friend. However, if you are Bronze and Platinum players you will be placed in a game at Platinum level. Although if you’re the Bronze player you’d still only pay the RP for Bronze level.
This will help eliminate higher ranked players carrying others through the lower ranks. If you’re a lower rank joining a high rank, be prepared for a tougher challenge.
Apex Legends has undergone a fair few changes to both ranked and casual play over the seasons so don’t expect it to stay this way forever. However, for now that’s how Apex Legends ranks currently work. Get out there and start grinding.
