If there’s one thing you think people would learn, it’s not to annoy people who like sacrifices, turning into animals, and magic that twists nature into deadly forms. In the new DLC expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, titled Wrath of the Druids, it seems someone didn’t get the memo and has incurred, well, the wrath of the druids.
With new lands to explore, new enemies to encounter, there’s a lot incoming for this Viking themed instalment of Assassin’s Creed. Here’s what you need to know.
Wrath of the Druids Release Date:
Originally coming to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X+S, Xbox One, Stadia, and Luna on the 29th of April, 2021, in mid-April Ubisoft announced that the release would be pushed back.
Now you’ll be able to dive into what’s new on the 13th of May, 2021, with a release that should see the content available to all platforms at the same time.
What’s new in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids
Ubisoft have been keeping their cards close to their chest with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids. There’s only been a few details announced so far, but here’s what we do know.
You’ll be heading west in this DLC expansion for Valhalla, to Ireland. There, Eivor will encounter the mysterious druidic cult known as the Children of Danu, worshippers of the Irish goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann.
On the new map for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla there’ll be a tonne of new content to explore, as you conquer ring forts and become a master of the art of smuggling. You’ll also encounter new Gaelic kings in your adventures, performing tasks for them and gaining favour with them as you earn your place in these new lands.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids Trailer
There’s only one trailer available at the time of writing, and it gives a little tease of what’s incoming in Wrath of the Druids. Way back in October of 2020, Ubisoft showed off some details of post-launch content and season pass information for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. It’s here that you can spot a bit of the Irish flavour present in Wrath of the Druids:
What’s next for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
We’re heading west in Wrath of the Druids, and in the next DLC expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Eivor’s journeys will see them go east. To Francia, or as you know it today – France.
Titled The Siege of Paris, it’ll involve an incredibly daring attack on that fortified city that’s familiar to anyone who’s watched the History Channel’s Vikings TV programme. This DLC will see players infiltrate Paris on their way to taking over this rich target, making new allies and new enemies in the land of the West Francia.
Currently, The Siege of Paris is planned for a Summer 2021 release, and we’ll keep you updated with any new details we learn.
