It’s that time of the Spring Sale again where our staff pick some of their favourite games for you to enjoy, we have a great collection of 9 of our favourite games and we’d like to tell you a little more about some of these picks and why we love them. So here it is straight from the horses mouth…. (mouths?)
Kenny: Doom
An incredible return to form by ID Software, now is the perfect time to pick up Doom and brush up on your demon-slaying skills before Doom: Eternal comes out! With the exhilarating combat, it is my Game of the Year – every damn year!
Ewan: Prey
Prey is a superb, thrilling RPG/action game set in space in an alternate universe filled with alien life. It thrusts you into a world of isolation, sparse in allies but thriving in enemies.
It is not as scary as other horror games, has wonderful skill progression, and tells an intriguing story that will leave you wanting to restart the second you finish.
Frank: 11-11 Memories Retold
Recently nominated for a Bafta Game award, 11-11 is a beautifully crafted story about World War 1 presented with wonderfully artistic visuals, like playing a living painting. It’s brilliant, heartfelt and you can even play as a cat.
Alex: Dishonored 2
Set in the sun-drenched Mediterranean-inspired city of Karnaca, Dishonored 2 is a game that lets you play your own way and never talks down to you. Will you usher in a kinder world, or will the world suffer on your blade? If weighty choices and rock-solid mechanics interest you, Dishonored 2 is a must-have.
Breen: Overcooked! 2
Overcooked! 2 is one of my favourite games at the moment. It’s a brilliant game if you are looking for fun co-op with your friends. Whether online or with friends on your couch you’ll be in for a hectic and very fun ride. Don’t let the cartoon style fool you, the game can be quite challenging, but if you work together with your team and have your roles sorted, the game can even feel therapeutic… I love bringing this game over to my friend’s house to play and it’s always a fun time, so hopefully, it will be for you too.
Adam: Surviving Mars
When this came out I put 36 hours into it and if you like sim games, this is a great time to grab it. Surviving Mars evolves around colonising mars. A lot of the time you are up against the wire, you need more power, then you need more food, but now you need more power again. It is very much a game of juggling different resources to maintain your colony.
Ian: Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director’s Cut
Deus Ex is one of the best cyberpunk RPGs around. Every problem has loads solutions from going in the front door guns-a-balazin, to bribing the guards to turn a blind eye, to sneaking around so they never even know you’re there. Steam has me logged at 95 hours playtime over the last few years. #
Be sure to pick up these and many more awesome titles in our Spring Sale.
