Another season, another Call of Duty: Warzone meta. The most recent update, Season 3 Reloaded, has introduced some sweeping changes to the Call of Duty battle royale experience, and it’s not just in the gun department. The whole map has been uprooted and warped to become Verdansk 84, with architecture from a different era entering the game. 80s action hero movie fans will be pleased too, as John McClane of Die Hard and John Rambo of uh, Rambo, have become playable Warzone Operators. There’s even a new location which is a replica of Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard!
But beyond all of the aesthetic shifts, let’s dig into the important gameplay aspects, such as guns and loadouts. What should you equip before you leap out of that plane into the unknown? Let’s find out with our guide to some of the best weapons in Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 Reloaded.
Best weapons
CR-56 AMAX
Despite a recent nerf in early May, many players and pros still regard this to be the best assault rifle in Warzone, especially in shootouts with players where you need to deal high damage at range. As long as you can get used to the recoil, TTK (time to kill) is low with this weapon, and you can make it even better by buffing its ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed and magazine size with attachments like the 45 Round Mags and the Commando Foregrip. The recent changes to the Monolithic Suppressor make it a great accoutrement for causing chaos with the AMAX too – just make sure you bring a decent scope for wrecking teams at mid range.
KAR98K
One of the most popular rifles in the game still endures in Season 3 Reloaded. The Kar98K is a versatile marksman monster for popping heads and taking down teams from distance. It also makes up one half of an especially dangerous loadout if you pair it with a fast TTK weapon in the second slot for close range battles. Again, the Monolithic Suppressor is the best choice for the range buffs and of course you want the longest barrel, the 27.6” to double down on your distance sniping capabilities. The rest of your attachments should focus on ADS speed and recoil control so you can quickly hold your aim and delete competitors from the game.
PPSH-41
If you want to slot a powerful Submachine Gun into your Season 3 Reloaded loadout, you should definitely consider the PPSh-41. Raven Software buffed this gun as part of the Season 3 Update and then again as part of the Season 3 Reloaded update, pushing its maximum damage from 27 to 28 and increasing its maximum damage range by 3.8%. This has made it quite popular in the community for its absurd TTK and ammo capacity. You could push it to 71 with the Spetsnaz 71 Rnd Drum, but this does hurt your ADS time, and you shouldn’t need much more than the 55 Rnd Drum to chunk those plates. Stick a Sound or GRU Suppressor on it and you can really cause some carnage. Focus on boosting its effective range and ADS speed so you can quickly adapt and compete at short and medium range.
