To be honest, I barely remember the story of the game, which doesn't sound too good, I admit, but i do remember that i liked it, and I finished the game, which is a plus. The locations were interesting, and i sorta wanted to get there myself. Among others, in this game you can actually visit the real life Hogwarts. How cool is that? The main characters magic skills are a unique way of solving puzzles. I never seen that before, or since, which is a shame, i really like magic tricks.
Gray Matter is an adventure game with a focus on magic. The main character is a street magician who is able to use different tricks in order to solve puzzles, you might have to use slight of hand tricks to take something from someone and replace it with something else or choose a trick that makes someone think that you destroyed something when you actually kept it. The game has decent character models, but an odd choice to include ugly character portrait by spoken dialogue. Using magic tricks to solve puzzles or to get things from people is unique but amounts to little more than choosing the correct trick for the situation from a book. I like Dr Styles, who you occasionally play as. The opening is poor and the supporting cast, main character, and environment aren't as interesting as some other adventure games out there but it's a decent title for the price.
