Lords of the Fallen is a decent Souls clone. The combat is solid, the monster designs are imaginative, and it copies enough of the Souls formula while doing enough alone to warrant it a buy, especially for gamer's who want a Souls experience but feel that Dark Souls is too difficult/slow. However, the Monk's Decipher is a confusing piece of DLC. The Monk?s Decipher is a quest line that rewards players with The Compass, a trinket that reveals hidden secrets. For starters, this should have been provided in the game for free, as a means of providing gamer's who feel that Lords of the Fallen is too difficult a slightly more easy experience. Furthermore, many of the 'secrets' The Compass reveals are not that hidden and are fairly obvious, which makes the point of The Compass and the quest to get it dubious at best. Lords of the Fallen's Monk's Decipher is not worth the money. It is something that should have been included in the base game, and then promptly ignored by most players. At least then we wouldn't have to be insulted by being asked money for it.
