is about to get even bigger with the massive Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion!

-All-new Hunting Mechanics

All 14 weapon types have new moves and combos. Each weapon has more unique actions than ever before. Every weapon now lets you use the clutch claw, a new function of the slinger, to grapple onto monsters. You'll drain your stamina while clinging onto monsters, but it opens up various new ways of controlling their movement!

-New Quest Difficulty: Master Rank!

On top of low rank and high rank, there is now a new quest difficulty called "master rank."
Master rank quests will become available once you purchase the Iceborne expansion. You'll be able to earn new materials and fight even stronger monsters on these quests!

-New Locale: Hoarfrost Reach

An unknown environment, yet to be discovered by mankind. Hoarfrost Reach has plenty of unique endemic life and monsters that could only exist in such a harsh climate. It has diverse geographical features as well, from deep stretches of snow that impede your movement to relaxing hot springs, and even unstable ground that could collapse at any moment! The visual effects are some of the most detailed the Monster Hunter series has ever seen!

-Various New Monsters!

Hoarfrost Reach is home to many new endemic creatures and monsters, such as the snow-swimming Beotodus, the raging Banbaro, and the mysterious elder dragon Velkhana.

But changes are afoot in familiar locales as well! Keep an eye out for new tracks of fan favorite monsters, such as Tigrex and Nargacuga!

Capcom hasn’t created just another DLC for Monster Hunter World, Iceborne is a colossal, fully-fledged expansion with a huge amount of new content for experienced hunters to test their skills against. Set in the newly discovered frozen region of Hoarfrost Reach, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne features an entirely new biosphere with new monsters, new challenges, new sights, and new prizes to earn. 

With a brand new storyline that picks up after the end of the base game, Iceborne sees hunters embark for Hoarfrost Reach. This huge region is unlike any location seen before in the game, with a refreshed monster list containing twists on favorite enemies, as well as new monsters that test the mettle of any hunter. With even more quests in Iceborne than in the original Monster Hunter World and with a region that’s larger than any single region in the base game, even the most experienced hunter will have hours of new challenges and new obstacles to overcome in this brand new DLC expansion.

For those that dare to step into Hoarfrost Reach, the ultimate goal is to play on the new Master Rank difficulty which features new monsters, new armor, and new weapons. Brand new Armor Sets, Charms, Decorations and Palico equipment are available for those brave enough to face the challenges in Iceborne, each exclusive only to those fighting in the expansion. New weapons from each type are also there for the taking, with their own movesets, brand new combos, and new elements. These also come on top of gameplay tweaks that should improve the experience for any Monster Hunter World players such as the ability to use the Slinger at any time while any weapon is equipped, and new modes for the Slinger such as the Clutch Claw and Flinch Shot.

With this new expansion, Capcom have taken the Monster Hunter World formula and perfected what has made it one of the top games of the last few years. With more monsters to hunt, more items to craft, and even a brand new chef to cook you tasty meals between hunts in your new home base, Iceborne brings the heat to a frozen world and is a step into the unknown that will reward any Monster Hunter World player. With the DLC expansion now coming to PC it’s time to strap on your weapon, get your armor, wake up your Palico, and get hunting.
