In a hunt for a Vampire’s thrall, Victor found himself below ground where he was set upon by a band of Skaven rat men. Victor won the battle, but he lost an eye. From that day, he hunted Skaven wherever he could.

It was there that she mastered the Lore of Fire, but she soon found that she lacked the disposition for scholarly pursuits.

She longs for the flames to lick her enemies in the heat of battle. A the start of the first game she stood accused of murder and was in the custody of Victor Saltzpyre.
A Ranger, Bardin Goreksson has dedicated his life to keeping the holds of Karak Ziflin and Karak Norn safe from enemy assaults. One day, when he was out on patrol, he came across a cave that appeared as if from nowhere, perhaps suddenly revealed by a rock slide.
It was a mine stripped of all its ore. Within the mine were some dead Dwarves and the rotting body of a Skaven warrior. Among the bodies were parts of a map that seemingly pointed to lost Dwarven hold Karak Zorn. He has been trying to decipher the map’s runes and uncover the location of this forgotten place since.
Kerillian is a wood elf who left her homeland for reasons unknown. Highly intelligent, nimble, and deadly, Kerillian regards humans as lowly lifeforms - uninteresting, unintelligent, and unworthy of attention. She wouldn’t think twice about killing a human who brushes her up the wrong way.
Born into farm life, Markus always knew he craved conflict. That is why he fled from his home and joined the Grunburg local militia as soon as he could. After a fight with a superior, he was sent to Ostland as a punishment. Murkus didn’t see this move as a punishment, however - instead he was being sent to a war-ravaged region, a place where he could finally put his skills to the test.
One day, in a battle with an undead army headed up by a necromancer, Markus emerged from the fight as the sole survivor. Mentally scarred from the war, he applied for leave. It was not granted. Then, by chance, Victor Saltzpyre caught sight of Markus in a roadside fight with some bandits. After seeing him in action, he convinced his regiment to let him accompany the Witch Hunter on a mission to escort his prisoner.
