Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be getting a wave-based mode to add to the game’s multiplayer game, called Uncharted 4: Survival, by creators Naughty Dog.
Uncharted 4 has expanded and evolved it’s similar gameplay from Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 and built on the experience. Adding more variety and depth to the game, players can choose to play this solo or with up to two friends.
There are 10 maps and a total of 50 waves of enemies, but not every wave means surviving the enemies. There will be set objectives, constant progression, collecting treasures and even defending areas. Similar to other survival modes, in-game cash can be earned and used to purchase weaponry and unlock gear.
The survival progression system is a great incentive for weapon upgrades and new items, including boosters and vanity items. As you progress and your firepower increases, enemies adapt to your abilities, which is insanely clever and a little bit scary. For the ultimate test of your skills, if you complete Hard Mode, Crushing Mode will be unlocked.
Naughty Dog has transported the same immersive gameplay style and thrown the characters into a manic and exhilarating wave of chaos. You will be facing off against our well acquainted human enemies, including our favourite ‘press O to avoid enemy lasers’ and hiding behind anything in an attempt to remove our shotgun foe’s helmet.
The waves will be split into sets of 10 waves, so players are given the chance to save progression, which has been a need in survival games. So you don’t have to choose between hitting wave 50 in one hit, it could take some time.
As well as your average mercenaries, at the end of each set of 10 waves, there will be a hard-hitting boss battle. Inspired by the story of Uncharted 4, the bosses will be Pirate Warlords who will have extra magic powers.
A great addition to the Uncharted game and the perfect farewell to a character that we’ve grown to know over the last nine years of Uncharted.
Uncharted 4: Survival will be launching mid-December and will a completely free extension of the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Check out the Uncharted 4: Survival trailer below,
