Rumours have been flying around the internet this week that Marvel Vs Capcom 4 maybe revealed at the PlayStation experience in Anaheim this weekend.
Even though the news has not come from Capcom officially sources have told Polygon that the game will be unveiled along side the Capcom Cup 2016 Street Fighter V tournament.
The roster this time around will be drawing strongly from the Marvel Cinematic universe. This means that we will likely see characters from Guardian Of The Galaxy, The Avengers and maybe even new movies such as Doctor Strange. Unfortunately however it seems as the focus is based more on the Marvel cinematic universe it maybe less likely that we will see any of the X-Men or Fantastic 4.
The lack of characters such as Wolverine and Storm will be a massive departure for the Marvel Vs Capcom franchise as the games kicked off back in 1994 with the title X-Men: Children of the Atom.
It appears that Capcom may have finally renewed their licence with Marvel. Much to fans dismay their original licence with Marvel expired in 2013. This resulted in all downloadable content for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 being pulled from Microsoft and Sony’s online stores. This also meant that Capcom were unable to make any updates to Marvel Vs Capcom 3, even though the game was still massively popular among fans and still features in the Evo fighting game tournament.
Sources have also stated that there maybe some good news for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 coming out during the PlayStation experience this weekend. It’ll be interesting to see what the next title in the Marvel Vs Capcom franchise will be like. It has also been speculated that Marvel Vs Capcom 4 maybe Playstation 4 exclusive, which comes as no surprise seeing as Street Fighter V is also exclusive to the platform.
The PlayStation Experience takes place at the Anaheim Convention Centre from the 3rd to the 4th of December.
