Telltale Games announced at The Game Awards last night that season 3 of The Walking Dead will be kicking off with a two-part premiere, as the first episode of the immersive decision based survival game was two big for players to take on in one hit, they decided to split this into two episodes.
A new trailer for the first episode titled ‘The Ties That Bind’ was shown at The Games Awards last night. It featured a family dealing with the death of a family member, only to find out he didn’t quite die…
Of course, Walking Dead fans know what happened next, but if you’re new to the series you won’t be disappointed by the heart this story has.
Telltale previously confirmed that both Clementine and Javier will be playable characters and the reveal of Javier’s background makes going into the new season a more emotional journey for us.
The last two seasons of The Walking Dead has followed main character Clem and now 4 years on, she is a teenager and teamed up with newcomer Javier. Read all about The Walking Dead Season 3 storyline.
Executive producer Kevin Boyle previously said, “Javier will begin to unravel the mystery of who Clementine has become, as her story intersects with his, both of them still driven by the things they value most long after society’s collapse.”
A season pass disc will be available on both PS4 and Xbox One alongside digital copies. The Walking Dead is however playable on PC, PS4 and Xbox, with a new episode released weekly. The first episode, with both parts, will be available on December 20th.
