Alien: Covenant Getting VR App

Alien: Covenant

It has been confirmed by The Verge that the latest upcoming Alien: Covenant film will be getting a Virtual Reality companion app.

The app is being produced by Alien: Covenant’s director, Ridley Scott and is in collaboration with RSA Films which is Scott’s production company. 20th Century Fox’s in house VR department, Fox Innovation Lab will be collaborating on the project also.

Fox describes the VR experience as a “dread-inducing journey into the depths of the Alien universe.

This news may come as a surprise to some Alien fans as the survival horror game Alien: Isolation never got VR support. Back in 2014 the game had a Pre Release VR demo, but sadly the demo was never developed as a final product and the VR side of the game was canned.

There have been no other details so far about Alien: Covenant VR, but the App will be releasing later this year.
