HTC Launches New VR Standalone With No PC Or Phone Needed

HTC Vive has launched a new standalone VR headset that doesn’t need a phone, a PC or a cabled connection to any device. HTC have revealed very limited details on the new headset but have said, “it will be simple, easy-to-use and with no cables to connect”.

This means that the headset will have all the hardware needed built-in.

According to Techradar, this is the first standalone headset to use Google’s Daydream platform, which the search giant announced would be available for phone / PC-free devices during its Google IO event.
