The Women’s National Basketball Association and its team of 12 players will make their video game debut in NBA Live 18, EA Sports have announced.
The teams will be available from the game’s WNBA Play Now menu, which will be in the one-off play offline or online modes (not career mode) and not against NBA teams.
The game will include Maya Moore, Brittney Griner, Diana Taurasi, Tina Charles and Kelsey Plum.
“It’s a great partnership and it expands the options available in the product, and it’s the stepping stone to, probably, some cool implementations with female characters going forward in the game,” senior producer Mike Mahar told Polygon. “Future iterations on how they will appear in the product, that will be added later.”
