Destiny developer Bungie have confirmed that that Destiny 2 will not support several popular game capture programs.
They stated that Destiny 2 will block functions for some overlays for hardware monitoring and chat. A Bungie FAQ page notes that “The Game Capture mode of applications such as OBS and XSplit is not supported,”. It has been report by Eurogamer that other methods will work such as hardware capture through Elgato or AVerMedia.
Bungie have also stated that “Other recording applications, such as Dxtory, Razer Cortex, Fraps have similar restrictions to those outlined above,”
Screen overlays for voice communication which are provided by Discord and Mumble will not work with Destiny 2 either. This is also applicable to frame rate and stat overlays which are provided by programs such as Fraps and Afterburner.
These restrictions will also be applied to the Destiny 2 PC beta which is starting on the 28th August. You can get more details on the PC beta here.
