Microtransactions in EA/DICE’s Battlefront II have been temporarily disabled, hours before the game’s launch.
This was announced via Twitter just 3.5 hours before the game was launched:
Today, we turned off in-game purchases for #StarWarsBattlefrontII. The game is built on your input, and it will continue to evolve and grow. Read the full update: https://t.co/asGASaYXVp pic.twitter.com/vQSOmsWRgk

The note from EA mentions the advantages that these microtransactions may give to some players, and that any imbalance caused by microtransactions was not their intent.
Any option to purchase crystals in the game and all crystals will be earned via in-game actions. This will continue until EA alters the progression system in Battlefront II, at which point the ability to purchase crystals for real money will return.
No date has been given for the return of microtransactions.
