Warhammer II: Rise of the Tomb Kings DLC detailed

Sega has lifted the lid off a whole new race that will be coming to Total War: Warhammer II, via the Rise of the Tomb Kings campaign pack, which is due to drop on 23 January 2018.

As you may have guessed, that race is called the Tomb Kings; unsurprisingly, given their name, they are a horde of the undead. You can get a sneak peek at what they will look and act like via this trailer.

The Total War official website goes into considerable detail about what the Tomb Kings will bring to Total War: Warhammer II in a blogpost. Which reveals that while Rise of the Tomb Kings won’t bring an extra story campaign, it will add two new Legendary Lords, with their own: “Skills, traits, quest-chains, legendary wargear and situational challenges”.

Plus there will be four new playable factions and, we’re promised, “A bunch of new campaign mechanics”. In addition, Rise of the Tomb Kings will be playable in both the Eye of the Vortex campaign and Mortal Empires. It sounds like it should be precisely what fans of Games Workshop’s enduring fantasy franchise have been craving.
