Nintendo has announced that the Splatoon 2 European Championship will take place in Switzerland on 31 March.
To be precise, the battle to decide which team will be crowned as the finest exponent of Splatoon 2 in Europe will take place at the Polymanga festival in the Montreux Music and Convention Centre, on 31 March. Polymanga will also feature a special Splatoon 2 concert, in which: “Pearl and Marina of the game’s pop idol-duo, Off the Hook, will appear onstage to sing along to a series of tracks and perform their slickest choreographed moves, all accompanied by a live band. The concert will take place before the Splatoon European Championship.”
Nintendo says that online and offline battling which took place in 2017 has determined local Splatoon 2 champions, but it has not released details of how many – or which — teams will participate in March’s Splatoon 2 World Championships. Stay tuned to the Splatoon 2 website for more information. And if you’re a massive Splatoon 2 fan (and who isn’t?), you might want to consider booking a visit to Polymanga, which should offer all sorts of Japanese pop-culture delights.
