Overwatch Anniversary Event kicks off

Overwatch’s second Anniversary Event has kicked off, bringing a new free map, limited edition skins and items plus various discounts on the game itself.

The Overwatch Anniversary Event will last until June 11. Blizzard said: “Overwatch Anniversary will bring in a host of new content, including over 50 fresh cosmetic items and the new Death-match map, Petra! Additionally, the event will bring back all seasonal cosmetic items, as well as past seasonal brawls that will rotate on a daily basis. Starting today, players will also be able to pick up the new digital Legendary Edition of Overwatch, which includes five Origin, five Epic, and five Legendary skins.”

Blizzard has provided more details in a blogpost. It has confirmed that among the event’s highlights are a Free For All Death-match map, Petra, more than 190 Anniversary items (over 60 of which are new for 2018) and: “Eight legendary skins: Stealth Bastion, Shieldmaiden Brigitte, Formal Doomfist, Buccaneer Junkrat, Sherlock McCree, Forest Spirit Orisa, Magician Symmetra, and Cybjörn Torbjörn.”

The Anniversary Event will also see price reductions on digital versions of the game until June 5: on PC, the Standard Edition will be reduced to £16.99 and the Legendary Edition to £29.99.
