UPDATE: Fallout 76 Announced

Update: Fallout 76 is the next Fallout game from Bethesda Game Studios. The game appears to be set in 2102, just over three hundred years after the Declaration of American Independence. This date range is also referenced in the teaser trailer, and the plot of the story may involve reclaiming the US after the nuclear war, meaning this is a prequel to the original Fallout games.

The trailer can be seen here, and remember to check back for more news on everything videogame as E3 approaches:

Original Story: Bethesda Game Studios has circulated a teaser for a new Fallout-related announcement.

In a cryptic tweet, it has posted a GIF of the familiar Fallout television test pattern, accompanied by the hashtag #PleaseStandBy.

Speculation about what Bethesda is about to announce, unsurprisingly, is rife. The favoured option among fans of the post-apocalyptic RPG series would be the unveiling of Fallout 5 – it is now nearly three years since Fallout 4 was released. However, others think the announcement might concern a New Vegas-style sequel to Fallout 4.

On the other hand, it could just be something like a Switch port of Fallout 3 or 4. Undoubtedly, all will be revealed at this year’s E3 Show, which is fast approaching. Bethesda’s press conference will take place at 2.30am on Monday June 11 UK time.

As we reported, a leak has already forced Bethesda to acknowledge the existence of Rage 2. Clearly, Bethesda will have plenty to talk about at E3: we’ll provide full details of how to stream its E3 press conference closer to its scheduled time.
