Shenmue I and II heading to consoles, PC in August

Sega has announced that Shenmue I and II will be re-released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on August 21, 2018.

The console versions of Yu Suzuki’s two action-RPG masterpieces will be available both digitally and physically, while the PC version will be available digitally via Steam. All versions can now be pre-ordered; Sega is running a 10 per cent discount for pre-orders of the digital versions.

Sega said: “This is the definitive version of these all-time classics and will be the best Shenmue experience to date. The re-release will contain all-new modernised features including fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface and the option to enjoy either the original Japanese or English voiceovers.”

Meanwhile, following a successful Kickstarter campaign, developer Ys Net is hard at work on Shenmue III. There’s still no news of a release date for that, but you might want to keep an eye on Sega’s official website for Shenmue I and II.
