The upcoming remaster of the first three Spyro games has been delayed. It will now launch on November 13th.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy was previously set to launch on the 21st of September on PS4 and Xbox One.
The news was revealed in a blog post on the Activision website by Paul Yan, who is the co-studio head at developer Toys for Bob.
In a statement to fans, Yan notes that “the Trilogy needs more love and care” and that Toys for Bob is “committed to getting these games right.”
In this case, the delay is necessary to make sure the game meets the standards they set out for the much-loved trilogy. It’s nearly been 18 years since the third game, Year of the Dragon was released for the PlayStation 1.
Yan rounds off the statement noting that “In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”
We should hear more about Spyro Reignited Trilogy in the coming months, with a playable demo available at Gamescom 2018, which takes place next week in Cologne.
