Pokemon’s Latest Legendary Monster Is The Ditto Nut, Meltan

The next creature to be added to the growing roster of Pocket Monsters has been revealed and it’s… an eyeless Ditto with a nut on its head?

Oddly enough, the ‘Hex Nut’ Pokemon started appearing in Pokemon Go, confusing players with it’s ‘???’ name and strange design.

In a surreal, art-style mixing video released by The Pokemon Company on Twitter, Professor Oak reveals to Professor Willow that he has seen the Pokemon before in the ancient texts and that its name is ‘Meltan’.

The Pokemon is a steel type that can corrode and absorb metal and shoots electricity from its floating eye. Apparently, it’s also “very expressive and shows an interest in all kinds of things.” Fantastic if you’re planning on dating it.

Its been made clear by the team at Pokemon that Pokemon GO is “key to meeting” Meltan in the upcoming ‘Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!’ & ‘Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee!’, which means that you’ll most likely have to transfer this weird little guy from your phone to your Switch to enjoy its company.

With updates promised, we’ll be sure to find out more details as we approach the November 16 release date of Pokemon: Let’s Go for the Nintendo Switch.
