Rockstar has dropped the launch trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, a short but sweet introduction to the Western world.
Set in 1899, this game serves as a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, where you play as Arthur Morgan, a member of the gang John Marston eventually has to hunt down in the sequel.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of what’s at stake, with Arthur and Dutch and the gang being forced to make tough decisions to ensure their survival in the Old West.
As Arthur notes, there’s “always a god damn train,” as we cut to scenes of various train robberies orchestrated by the gang. Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston also makes a fresh-faced appearance, conversing with Arthur about the nature of loyalty.
We also get a brief glimpse of what looks to be an antagonist, who claims that the only person he want’s to kill is Dutch, not the rest of the gang.
Very exciting. I’m sure we’ll find out what’s truly going on when Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this October 26th.
