Fortnite sets new record with 8.3 million concurrent players

Fortnite has set a new games industry record with a whopping 8.3 million concurrent users.

Epic Games Korea CEO Sung Chul Park revealed the stunning figure to Korean website Inven (please gloss over the dodgy Google translation). The news follows the recent, belated implementation of Fortnite’s Battle Royale mode in South Korea.

The accommodation of 8.3 million concurrent players also demonstrates the dramatic, rapid growth of Fortnite: in February 2018, it spiked with 3.4 million concurrent users which, at the time, caused major service disruptions.

Meanwhile, as of today, Fortnite’s tie-up with the NFL kicks off, allowing players to buy NFL-themed outfits from the Item Shop. For general Fortnite news, keep an eye on its website.
