Cryptic Tweet Suggests ‘Alien: Blackout’ Could Be Revealed At The Game Awards

An enigmatic tweet from the tricksy Geoff Keighley has kickstarted the rumour mill, with evidence suggesting that a new Alien game is going to be revealed at The Game Awards.

Keighley tweeted “WORLDS // WILL // CHANGE on December 6,” accompanied by a boxed out image of the same phrase, with a typeface similar to that of Weyland-Yutani Corp, the nefarious conglomerate in the Alien universe.

December 6 is the date of The Game Awards, where Keighley has promised multiple interesting announcements, with Alien: Blackout likely being one of them.

The reason this is plausible is that it follows a trademark from FOX for an “Alien: Blackout” just last week, with the trademark listing ‘video game software.’

According to multiple sources, the game has been in development for a while now under FoxNext’s games division, with Cold Iron Studios taking the reigns in 2015.

Cold Iron’s hiring page makes not that they are working on a “new PC and console shooter based on the Alien franchise,” though details are scant beyond that.

I’m sure we’ll find out more next Thursday when The Game Awards rolls out the red carpet.
