Ubisoft has released a teaser trailer for the next Far Cry game.
Plus it has pledged that a fuller reveal of the next installment of the much-loved open-world action franchise will take place at the Game Awards on Friday 7 December 2018, at 1.30am GMT.
As the teaser trailer above shows, the next Far Cry (which may be dubbed Far Cry 6, or may have a different title if Ubisoft doesn’t deem it a full franchise iteration, as with Far Cry Primal or Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon) will pick up where Far Cry 5 left off. Which was with multiple nuclear strikes being launched.
So it appears that the next Far Cry will take place in a post-apocalyptic landscape – the trailer depicts the protagonist wielding a crossbow loaded with a rusty circular saw, suggesting that foraging for materials and crafting weapons will be an important game mechanic. All will be revealed in more depth at this year’s Game Awards, which take place in the early hours of tomorrow morning, Friday, December 7.
Far Cry fans should make sure they tune in to one of the many available streams of The Game Awards. For details of how to do that, click here.
