Ubisoft’s Steep Leads PS Plus Games For January

The free games landing for PlayStation Plus subscribers in January have been revealed.

Leading the pack is Steep, Ubisoft’s open-world snow-sports game that was released to muted fanfare back in December of 2016. It’s since gained some fan favour, and is thought to be a fun, laid-back snowboarding sim with friends. Perfect for the holiday season!

Portal Knights is the second game on the list. A blocky title that has found popularity with the younger gaming crowd, Portal Knights carefully melds Minecraft building with RPG systems, creating an adventure game that you can share with friends. The tactical combat system invokes dodge rolls and demands co-ordination, meaning there’s something for everyone here.

As well as the two main heavy hitters, PS3 users will be happy to hear that they’re receiving both the Harmonix-developed Audiosurf-like Amplitude and Zone of the Enders HD Collection.

Those of us still rocking the Vita will also be treated to Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion and Super Mutant Alien Assault.

This certainly isn’t the finest lineup we’ve ever had, but if you were interested in trying out Steep or Portal Knights (or you’re a ZOE fan) you can certainly find something to love here. Happy Holidays!
