Monster Hunter World Iceborne expansion touted for autumn 2019 release

Capcom has revealed that Iceborne, the first major expansion for Monster Hunter world, is due to be released in autumn 2019.

At The Game Awards 2018, Capcom released a teaser trailer for what it describes as a “Massive Expansion”, promising that Iceborne will bring: “A new quest rank, monsters, locales, moves, equipment, and a new story that begins after the events of Monster Hunter: World.”

The teaser strongly suggests that Iceborne will add a whole new, frozen, gameplay area to the game. Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has also made a video which sheds some further light on the expansion. In it, he promises “New gameplay elements” that will also apply to the base game.

No doubt further details of Iceborne will emerge in the build-up towards the expansion’s autumn release. In the meantime, keep an eye on its official webpage.
