Epic gives out free gliders to compensate for Fortnite event date error

To compensate for providing the wrong end-date for the recent 14 Days of Fortnite event, Epic Games is giving all participants a free glider.

You might presume that it would be obvious how long an event entitled 14 Days of Fortnite would last, and in the game, an accurate timer showed you how long the festive event had left to run. But, as pointed out on Reddit, Epic Games had posted the following on social media: “Once all 14 days’ worth of challenges have been unlocked, there will still be a few days to complete them before they go away (IIRC they expire on either the 3rd or 4th of January).” Which proved inaccurate, since the event ended on 2 January.

Realising its mistake, Epic Games tweeted: “We apologize for communicating the wrong end date for 14 Days of Fortnite on social channels. To make up for this, players that completed at least one 14 Days Event Challenge will be granted the Equalizer Glider. Eligible players will begin receiving theirs in the near future.”

If you completed one of the 14 Days of Fortnite challenges and are keen to get your hands on your free compensatory Equalizer Glider, your best bet is to keep an eye on the Fortnite website’s news page in order to find out when and how Epic Games will be dishing them out.
