Free Blackout trial coming to Black Ops 4

Publisher Activision and developer Treyarch have announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode will be playable for free for the period of a week starting on Thursday 17 January, 2019.

The free trial will apply across the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC versions. Activision said: “The Blackout Free Trial will feature all the intense action from the game mode that brings together characters, locations, weapons and gear from across the series with Black Ops signature gameplay fans know and love.”

Meanwhile, in a blog post, Treyarch has announced a 115 Day Celebration Event which will bring new features to Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Zombies mode. Among those will be a double-XP period lasting until January 18 and the debut of Gauntlets, which Treyarch describes thus: “Gauntlets in Zombies are endlessly-replayable, 30-round challenges with unique rules governing gameplay in each round. Players earn medals and tiered rewards for completing rounds 10, 20, and 30, as well as a unique reward to adorn your Emblem for completing round 30 without failing a round.”
