Oddworld Soulstorm: reimagining Abe’s Exoddus

Oddworld Soulstorm

Oddworld Inhabitants is developing a new game starring the much-loved Abe, entitled Oddworld Soulstorm.

Soulstorm will effectively be a reimagining of the second game to star Abe, 1998’s Abe’s Exoddus. Director Lorne Lanning was unhappy with Abe’s Exoddus, which Oddworld Inhabitants was forced to rush out after just one year’s development. Following the success of Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, a 2014 reworking of 1997’s Abe’s Oddyssee, Lanning has opted to apply similar principles to Oddworld Soulstorm.

According to Oddworld Inhabitants’ website, Soulstorm is penciled in for a 2020 release. No doubt further news will emerge at this year’s E3 Show, and you might also like to watch Oddworld Inhabitants’ Twitter feed.
