Developer NetherRealm has revealed that the characters Shang Tsung, Sindel, Nightwolf and Spawn will be added to Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC.
NetherRealm’s Ed Boon, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise, made the announcement on Twitter. Along with a video showing gameplay involving Shang Tsung, he tweeted: “Shang Tsung Gameplay video! Mortal Kombat 11 DLC includes Sindel, Nightwolf, SPAWN and 2 more 2B announced soon!”
That tweet offered the prospect of two other, as yet unannounced, characters being added to the all-conquering beat-em-up in addition to the four that have been revealed. The new characters will become available via the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack, which will effectively be a season pass for the game.
If a previous leak is to be believed we could be seeing either Ash from the Evil Dead franchise, the Terminator and DC’s the Joker included. Though with only two spots left it’s anyone’s guess. Sindel, Nightwolf, and SPAWN were all part of that leak as well, so, so far so good!
A tweet announcing the new characters posted by the official Mortal Kombat account provided a hint as to when the Kombat Pack will become available, saying: “Early access to the Sorcerer begins June 18th.” It also pointed towards a web address where gamers will be able to purchase the Kombat Pack, which is listed at $39.99 for the PlayStation 4 in the US.
