It was a busy week in Gaming news, Stadia revealed a lackluster lineup for its launch titles, whilst another big streamer announced there move to Microsofts Mixer platform. We also saw some delays and big reveals for new games.

Obsidian re-examining the entire format of Pillars of Eternity before making a third game

Josh Sawyer, game director and narrative designer on both Pillars of Eternity games as well as director of fan-favorite Fallout: New Vegas,  has spoken up about the potential for a third Pillars of Eternity game. The apparent comparatively low sales of the second game, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, has cast doubt over a third entry in the series, stating that the company will have to ‘re-examine the entire format of the game’. Kerbal Space Program 2 delayed till after April 2020

Originally penned for release sometime before summer 2020, it has recently been revealed that the sequel to the hit spaceship building game will now only see its launch sometime after April 2020 and could even be delayed to early 2021. During the recent investors call, president of Take-Two Karl Slatoff said that “Kerbal Space Program 2, the sequel to the beloved original space sim, is now planned for launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, in fiscal 2021, in order to allow more time to make the experience as terrific as possible.” Full Article

The twelve titles that will be available to play on launch are as follows:

  • Kine
  • Mortal Kombat 11 
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • SAMURAI SHODOWN
  • Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
  • Thumper
  • Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition

Echo Fox esports Organisation Officially ‘Gone’

Echo Fox, the prominent esports organisation founded in 2015, has been officially confirmed as being defunct. Set up by NBA player, actor, and entrepreneur Rick Fox, the organisation has been apparently non-operational for some time with old designs on their website, broken links, and no activity on their YouTube channel for two months. The confirmation that Echo Fox is ‘gone’ came from a spokesperson for an Echo Fox investor. Full Article

Another playtester being sued for Fortnite leaks

Montreal game tester Lucas Johnston is under fire from Epic Games for allegedly leaking “highly confidential information” in the form of a screenshot. Epic Games are seeking damages of more than $85,000 for the breaking of a non-disclosure agreement, though Michael Shortt, a Montreal-based intellectual property lawyer with law firm Fasken, believes that this isn’t about the money, and is rather about sending a message to players and staff about leaks. 14-Year old Fortnite Pro Faze Ewok Joins Team Mixer

If you don’t know who Faze Ewok is, real name Soleil Wheeler, she was the first female member of the Faze Klan roster. A 14-year old deaf Fortnite pro, that joined the team earlier this year after receiving praise from long-time Fortnite Star TimTheTatMan. Now she has her sights set on a new first for female gamers – to qualify for the Fortnite World Cup. Full Article
